Czeching in: Adventures of a girl in Prague

Sometimes you just need to explore. I will be doing just that this summer, in a place that I have never been--Europe. Homebase? Prague. Besides doing a small survey of Bohemia and Moravia in the beautiful Czech Republic. I will hit up Berlin, Vienna, and all over Italy--who knows... I could end up anywhere.

Stay Classy, Prague.

The opening and closing dinner are special times. Times of friends. Times of fun. Times of bottomless glasses of wine. And also, the one of the only times the program doles out for a meal besides breakfast. (Which we actually doled out with the last tuition check...or czech...I had to, I am sorry.) However, when the Ritz is put on, it is put on right.

Here are a few selections from our dinner in a fancy-schmancy little number on the Vltava River. Stay classy, Northwestern...you're in Prague.

A little group action before the fun begins. Pictured are (CW from L) Lauren, Lauren (UNC), Alicia (UNC), Phil (UNC), Ben, Robin, Me, Spencer, Janelle, and Nick. Behind the camera? Probably Jason.

On to the food...Dobre Chut! (Bon Appetit ala Czech)

A green salad, mixed fruit, and bleu cheese.

Delicious chicken with a subtle curry sauce.

Sour cherry sauce with (the edible part) chocolate mousse.

Featured in all pictures: White wine. Bile vino.

Topping off the night a good, old czech pub.

mmmm....too bad I have to wait 6 more weeks till the next elaborate and neverending meal.

Hey Mel: Glad to see you having a hot classy meal. Alcoholic beverages appear to be a food group over there, but I'm sure you'll adapt. Sure am enjoying your adventures. Stay safe and ENJOY EVERY MINUTE. Love, Auntie R.

This looks like quite a beautiful meal. A+ for presentation. Is white wine really "bile vino"? I might have gone for the red.....

Mel: RE: Wine. My Czech connection says stay with the white, despite the bile issue. I'm trying to get Yo Mama to move beyond wine from a box, and will expand her horizons later this summer. (Ohio wine...don't get too excited for us!) Keep having a blast- Auntie R.
